Summary: Is responsible for staff education related to Dementia and House-Wide topics with a focus on the development and delivery of high quality programs.

Reports To: VP, Employee Relations & Administrative Services

Titles Supervised: None


Essential Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the provision of high quality responsive and flexible education programs and act as resource for the residents

2. Identify staff training needs

3. Coordinate the production of written materials including any training manuals, articles for education, newsletters or learning guides

4. Identify unmet education and training needs and develop appropriate programs

5. Develops and maintains education calendar and data base for tracking education hours

6. Provides excellent customer service to staff, residents, families, visitors and vendors

7.  Maintains all established departmental and facility policies, procedures and objectives. Keeps VP aware of all departmental and employee issues related to education. Maintains high level of confidentiality.

8. Identifies educational opportunities, plans and organizes education programs, annual needs assessments, publishes monthly education calendar, coordinates classroom facilities and instructional aides, develops various reports for management as requested. Develops and promotes community relationships, attends committee and leadership meetings as requested.



Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree

Experience: 2+ years of related experience

Licensure: RN


Ability to handle multiple tasks, demands and deadlines while providing and promoting the education of dementia and house-wide topics as identified. Attention to details and ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate well at all levels within the organization, read, write, use computer programs, follow up and carry out instructions.
