Job Title:   Certified Nursing Assistant - Clinic

Department: Clinical Support

Summary:     Provide support to residents while in the clinic setting.

Reports To: Director,  Nursing

Titles Supervised:  n/a

Schedule: Part-time (22.5 hrs) Monday - Friday 1st shift

 

Essential Job Functions:   

1.    Assisting physicians with resident exams/treatments.  Lifting legs, removing stockings, shoes.  Performing vision chart screening.  Transferring residents to the appropriate treatment chair utilizing safety measures/ good body mechanics.

2.     Assisting with the physical care of the residents including but not limited to; toileting residents, providing hydration, attending to nasal discharge, vomitus etc.

3.     Continuous monotoring of resident safety, well-being, and mood state in the treatment rooms and the waiting rooms.

4.     Transporting residents when required ( to and from Units).

5.      Triaging telephone inquiries.

6.      Collecting and returning resident charts.

7.      Pickup and sterilization of exam equipment including podiatry, dental, ophthalmology and dermatology.  Preparation of equipment for autoclave, room breakdown and set up for physicians, checking package dates and re-sterilizing when necessary and periodic cleaning of autoclave.

8.     Filing and paperwork duties. (Beltone exams, paper backup of scheduling, logging in of PPD's/CXR's, dental post tx. documentation).

9.     Computer data entry (tracking of PPD/CXR reports, schedule/recall appts./ child care documentation tracking/CQI reports.

10.  X-Ray filing management.

11.  Dispensing hearing aid batteries, dentures, eyeglasses etc.

12.  Successful completion of core competencies.

13.  Stocking Clinic shelves.

14.  Other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:    High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 6 months as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Long Term Care environment preferred

Licensure:     n/a


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  Must be able to handle multiple demands and deadlines and relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times hostile residents within the Clinic area while keeping them safe.  Ability to read and communicate effectively; Ability to utilize various software packages to carryout position responsibilities.
